Tuesday Morning at 1:30 AM, Golden Valley Firefighters were dispatched to a fully involved structure fire in the 2400 block of Yaqui Road. When Firefighters rolled out of the their fire stations, flames could be seen from as far away as eight miles away according to Fire Chief Thomas O’Donohue. The first arriving unit reported a fully involved structure fire, mostly on the ground. “When the fire is first reported from a person eight miles away, there is no surprise when it’s nearly 100% consumed even with our short response times” said O’Donohue. The home which was unoccupied at the time of the fire was being remodeled. Fire Marshal Randy Osborn and determined the cause to be an electrical short. This is the fourth home fire in approximately one moth for Golden Valley.
