Alamo Structure Fire
An “all-callout” was received at 12:48 a.m. December 22, 2015 for firefighters assigned to the Golden Valley Fire District (GVFD) Stations #11, #12 and #13 for a structure fire on Alamo Road.
First on scene were firefighters from Station #13, from the Walnut Creek area of Golden Valley, and because the fire was contained only to a small portion of the single-wide mobile home, the other fire stations personnel were called off.
“When we arrived on scene, the occupants of the home were already outside of the burning structure and were attempting to put the fire out with a garden hose,” said GVFD Engineer/Paramedic Chad Lewis. “The residents of the home stated the smoke detector wasn’t working, but a daughter residing in the home smelled smoke and alerted the other occupants.”
According to fire officials, the fire was contained to the front doorjamb area and the bottom of the eves directly above the door.
The actual cause of the early morning fire is currently under investigation by GVFD officials.
