Tuesday at 3:20 PM, Golden Valley Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire in a travel trailer in the 4300 block of Destiny Way, however were unable to save two small dogs who perished from smoke inhalation. GVFD Captain Dave Cunningham and Firefighter Bryon Kimber attempt to resuscitated two family dogs after being pulled from the home by Engineer Chad Lewis. The fire was reported by a neighbor who stood outside with a garden hose and kept the flames at bay after reporting the fire. The fire, which was confined to the rear of the travel trailer, however the was significant smoke and heat damage according to Fire Marshal Randy Osborn who remained on scene to determine the cause of the fire. The fire was kept from spreading to the back of the home. The homeowner was not at home at the time of the fire.
