Fire Marshall Randy Osborn was presented with a 25 Year Plaque by Fire Chief Jack Yeager and Chairman Paul Gorman at the March 24, 2016 GVFD Board Meeting. In order to get Randy at the meeting as he was on vacation at the time, Fire Chief Yeager called Fire Marshall Osborn and asked if he could attend the board meeting as there were some questions regarding Fire Code issues. Osborn being the dedicated employee did not hesitate and showed up with codebook and pen in hand. Among the audience were family, friends and fire personnel to watch Osborn at this special occasion. After the presentation Fire Marshall Osborn stated “My time with the District has been the best 25 years of my life and I could not imagine doing anything else.”
Osborn started his career as a volunteer for 6 months before being asked to test for Firefighter with the only Fire Station in Golden Valley at the time on Mayer Rd. On March 25, 1991 at the age of 38 Osborn was hired on as a fulltime Firefighter with Golden Valley Fire District. During his career Randy has also held the position of Engineer. The District has been very fortunate to have had Osborn for his entire career as it is uncommon for a Firefighter to stay with the same department thru out.
Fire Marshall Randy Osborn has announced his retirement date of May 30, 2016.
We would like to thank Fire Marshall Osborn for his 25 years of dedication and service to Golden Valley Fire District and to his community. A Job Well Done!!
