Nov. 24, 2015
Two drivers were injured at 10 a.m. when a two-vehicle accident occurred in Golden Valley.
The driver of a compact car allegedly pulled out from South Verde Road into the path of another compact vehicle that was traveling east on Highway 68. When Golden Valley Fire District (GVFD) firefighters from Station 11 and 12, in addition Battalion 1 (the duty captain), responded to the accident scene, one of the two involved in the collision received medical treatment. After being treated, the female was then transported via ambulance to Kingman Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries for evaluation. The male injured in the accident refused medical treatment.
Department of Public Safety officers responded and the exact cause of the accident is currently being investigated by DPS. Fire district officials stress that if drivers are entering or crossing Highway 68 from side roads, they should be extremely cautious and ensure there is no oncoming traffic.
