Golden Valley & Kingman Fire Departments responded to a single vehicle rollover on Hwy-40 about Mile-Post 47 at 12:30 on Saturday afternoon. First arriving units discovered the late model Ford pickup on its side in the eastbound lanes. The female driver of the vehicle was hanging almost upside from her seatbelt. The first arriving Golden Valley Firefighter removed the windshield and entered the vehicle to examine the driver and cut her seatbelt and eased her down after assessing for injuries. For the next several minutes, GVFD and KFD crews cut off the roof of the vehicle and carefully extricated the driver who was the only occupant of the vehicle. The accident blocked all eastbound lanes of traffic for approximately one-hour while emergency crews extricated the patient and removed the vehicle from the roadway. The driver, who reported she lives in Flagstaff was the only occupant, and was transported to KRMC for moderate injuries. There were no other vehicle involved. The accident is under investigation by DPS.
