GOLDEN VALLEY – A driver escaped possible serious injury when her vehicle she was driving slid off the roadway and rolled over in the rain-slick westbound lanes of Highway 68 ending up upside down in the center meridian of the highway.
Firefighters from Golden Valley Fire District (GVFD) and Bullhead City Fire Department responded to the accident that occurred at 4:38 p.m. at Mile Marker 11 of Highway 68.
When the firefighters arrived on scene, they observed the injured 19-year-old female driver laying face down on the ground approximately five feet away from her wrecked 2005 four-door Chevrolet Malibu. “The driver of the vehicle must have not been wearing a seatbelt because she was ejected from the vehicle when it rolled over,” said a civilian witness to the accident.
According to GVFD officials, the lone occupant of the vehicle received medical treatment at the scene and then was transported to the hospital via a Care Flight medical helicopter with non-life-threatening injuries for evaluation.
The exact cause of the accident is currently being investigated by DPS.
Fire District officials stress that all occupants of vehicles should be seat belted in so they will not be ejected in case of a rollover accident.
