A 35-year-old Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, woman escaped injury when the Ford Ranger pickup truck she was driving while towing a Ford Taurus careened off the roadway and crashed ending up in the ditch area just north of the highway.
Golden Valley Fire District (GVFD) firefighters from Station 12, along with GVFD Duty Officer Captain Dave Martin, responded to the accident at 10:49 a.m., Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Mile Marker 10 on U.S. Highway 68.
According to civilian witnesses and the female driver of the Ford Ranger, she was travelling westbound at about 55 mph in the slow lane when the vehicle she was towing on a dolly started fishtailing and she lost control. When the truck and car slid into the ditch, the Ford Taurus flipped over, but the pickup remained in the upright position.
According to fire district personnel who were at the accident scene, the lone occupant of the truck was not injured and refused medical treatment.
