Golden Valley Fire was dispatched to a fully involved structure fire in the 2100 block of S. Estrella Road Wednesday at 5:10 pm. First unit to arrive reported a fully involved double wide mobile home with multiple exposures which included a bus full of tires and three vehicles. Thick plumes of black smoke could be seen for miles across the entire valley rising hundreds of feet into the air from the home and burning tires until the fire was under control. The husband and wife were home at the time of the fire, although they had no idea their home was on fire until a neighbor came and told them. The occupants were displaced as were two cats, one which was burned and treated on scene by GVFD paramedics. Fire officials stated that the Red Cross was notified as well as Mohave County Animal Control. In all, twelve fire personnel responded to the blaze. The home is considered a total loss, and the cause is under investigation by the GVFD Fire Marshal.
