MOHAVE COUNTY – Golden Valley Fire District (GVFD) Engineer-EMT Luke Weber practices using ropes, pulleys and the stokes basket with “Rescue Randy (a simulated victim dummy) in it Saturday, May 7, 2016, as GVFD Engineer-Paramedic Kevin Gifford and members of Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue watch. Both GVFD firefighters, Weber and Gifford, participated in the day-long training exercise in which they, along with MCSO Search and Rescue members from Kingman, Bullhead City and Lake Havasu City, practiced various means of using ropes to rescue people. The members of GVFD and the MCSO Search and Rescue continually train throughout the year to hone their technical skills to ensure they are proficient when an emergency may occur in which are needed.
