Mentally Ill Kids in Distress (MIKID) Fundraiser
Employees of the original Denny’s Restaurant in Kingman, Kingman Police Explorers, Professional Firefighters of Kingman Local 4191, firefighters of Golden Valley Fire District and Kingman Fire Department, and their family members proudly pose during the 8th Annual “Turkey Wars” fundraiser held in Kingman. Turkey Wars is an annual event held at the Kingman Denny’s Restaurant to raise funds for Mentally Ill Kids In Distress (MIKID) that helps families for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The firefighters and servers donated their time and 100 percent of their tips, and Denny’s donated 10 percent of all sales between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. during the three-day event. According to MIKID Northern Arizona Coordinator Nancy Osborn, the 501 (c) (3) charity provides support for residents of Kingman and Golden Valley who have children with special needs. For further information about MIKID or to donate to the program, contact Mrs. Osborn at (928) 279-3643 or email her at nancyo@mikid.org.
