Golden Valley Firefighters made short work of a mobile home in the 4000 block of Tangerine Drive fire Friday evening at 9:12 PM. Multiple calls poured into the Kingman 911 Dispatch Center reporting a fully involved house fire. Chief O’Donohue, who arrived first, reported a fully involved structure fire with exposures to the overhead power lines. Firefighters quickly knocked down the blaze within minutes of arrival. O’Donohue reported how proud he is of his crews: “Considering we could see the flames from 4-miles away as soon as we were dispatched, Captain Lewis and his crew had this fire under control so quickly, we were able to cancel all other incoming fire engines”. Crews also did a rapid interior search and determined there was nobody inside the residence. “It appears the home has been unoccupied for some time” according to Captain Boyd Lewis. Neighbors reported seeing transients in out and of the home in recent months, although they didn’t see anyone this evening. The cause has yet to be determined by GVFD fire investigators. The abandoned home is considered a total loss.
